Six coin tosses. That’s what it took to decide the winner in the Iowa Caucus Democratic race. Everyone is saying that the Iowa caucus has never been this close. Perhaps in the past, everyone (well almost everyone except the loser) was satisfied with this method. Perhaps if Hillary and Bernie had ended with a 3% difference, no one would care about the coin toss method.
Are Bernie Sander’s supporters just being sore losers? Think about this. What would happen on the school playground if 6 coin tosses decided the outcome of a game? What if the referees in an NFL game couldn’t decide if it was a touchdown or not? We are not sure what goes on in that booth while they are reviewing the play, but I am pretty sure it’s not a coin toss.
Surely, the first contest in the year long trek to the white house is more important than a football game. It seems to me that someone, (Democratic National Chairperson?) should take the reins and meet with Iowa officials. Since this is such a rare event, someone will come up with a better way to address this particular situation.
